~Hooping for the Mind, Body, and Spirit~

FAQs

I heard that hooping is good exercise, is that true?

Hooping is great exercise!  The American Council on Exercise studied the benefits of hooping and found that hooping burns 210 calories per 30-minute session or 420 calories per hour.  What is really amazing about it is that your perceived exertion is much lower than most forms of exercise, and it’s more fun too.  Hooping is a great way to work your core muscles and has meditative benefits as well.  The ACE study information can be found here.

How do I know which hoop is right for me?

If you are a beginner, you will probably want a standard hoop, 39” or larger.  Light weight hoops are generally more for experienced hoopers or hoopers that do more off-body hooping.  The standard hoops are heavier and larger so they are easier to keep up.  You also burn more calories using a standard hoop versus a light weight hoop.  If you are still not sure, feel free to contact us at hello@trinitystarr.com.

How durable are TrinityStarr Hoops?

TrinityStarr and most other hoops are very durable.  The tubing should not break under hooping circumstances. However, if you try to bend your hoop too far you can kink the tubing.  The decorative tape can be scratched when your hoop is dropped on the ground or bounced off of hard objects.  If you want to keep your hoop in great condition, hoop on soft surfaces like grass.

Generally, you know you’re a hooper when your hoop shows its miles!  ;)
